• Which food can I feed without additives, which do I have to supplement?

  Bei unseren Classic Sortiment für Hunde und Pussy Deluxe für Katzen handelt es sich um Alleinfuttermittel. Diese können ohne Zusätze gefüttert werden. Die Reinfleischsorten THE PURE für Hunde und Katzen sind Ergänzungsfuttermittel, die um weitere Zutaten ergänzt werden müssen. 

• What is the shelf life of the products when opened?

  Our products should be consumed refrigerated and preferably airtight within 2-3 days. 

• Can I freeze the sausages?

  Due to the long shelf life of our sausages, freezing is usually not necessary. If you want to freeze our sausages for better storage, however, nothing speaks against it from the side of quality, only the appearance may change. However, we cannot guarantee an extension of the shelf life by freezing.   

• How much of the Classic sausages should my dog eat?

  The right amount of food varies from dog to dog. For example, a neutered animal needs about 25% less energy than an unneutered one. A dog kept primarily outdoors more than a dog kept indoors. Do you walk your dog for more than three hours a day or do you actively engage in dog sports several times a week? Then your darling may also need more energy. Our advice: feel your way to the optimal amount of food! You should always feel your dog's ribs without being able to see them. Then he has the optimal weight. Recommended is a total feed amount of about 2 - 4% of the body mass of the dog. 

• How much BARF/Steakhouse should I feed?

  It is important that the wet BARF ration is well and fully calculated. For this it is best to ask a veterinarian who specializes in animal nutrition.

• How much does my growing young dog get to eat?

• What is the composition of a balanced food ration with BARF or Steakhouse?

  Animal ingredients always make up the main part. The proportion of meat or fish with offal in wet-BARF is 80%. In addition, there are 20% vegetable ingredients, such as fruits and vegetables. In addition, high-quality oils, such as salmon oil. Also supplemented are nutrients such as B vitamins, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, iodine, zinc. 

• How can I feed BARF/Steakhouse to my growing young dog?

  In general, you can feed dogs with wet BARF from the first weeks of life, it is well tolerated. The pieces should be as small as possible. It is best to see which ingredients the dog liked and vary the ingredients accordingly. Young dogs have a special need for minerals, vitamins and trace elements. The vet or veterinarian will help with the selection of supplements and the determination of the optimal amount of food.  

• Ist Yucca-Extrakt gefährlich für meinen Hund?

  Der Yucca-Extrakt in unserem Futter ist in einer so geringen Menge enthalten, dass er für Hunde absolut unbedenklich ist. Statt negative Auswirkungen zu haben, hilft er, unangenehme Kotgerüche zu mindern und die Verdauung positiv zu unterstützen – wissenschaftlich belegt und völlig sicher, auch bei einer täglichen Fütterung.

Fragen zu den Classic Rezepturen

• Was ist Kartoffelstärke und warum ist es in der Wurst?

  Kartoffelstärke ist ein sehr guter Rohstoff in Bezug auf seine Bindemöglichkeit von Wasser und Öle, was für die Wurstproduktion sehr wichtig ist. Sonst würden unsere Würste nicht ihre einzigartige Stückigkeit und Haptik erhalten. Durch den Einsatz von Kartoffelstärke in unseren Alleinfuttermenüs können wir diese als „getreidefrei“ deklarieren. Spuren von Getreide können allerdings produktionsbedingt auftreten.

• Warum ist Brühe in den Classic Alleinfutter-Würsten?

  Alle Einzelbestandteile der Rezepturen haben einen natürlichen Wasseranteil – daher ist unser Futter übergeordnet auch ein Nassfutter. Den Wasseranteil brauchen wir auch, um die besondere Konsistenz zu gewährleisten, die unsere Premiumwürste ausmachen. Durch die Zugabe von Brühe werten wir das Wasser auf und machen das Menü schmackhafter. Wir nutzen aus produktionstechnischen Gründen Gemüsebrühe.

• Warum haben manche Sorten manchmal einen Rand aus Gelee oder Fett?

  Die weißen Ablagerungen stellen das ausgetretene Fett des Fleisches und den Innereien dar. Das kommt am häufigsten bei Produkten mit Rind vor. Dies ist von den natürlichen Schwankungen des Fettgehaltes der Tiere abhängig und nicht vermeidbar. Das Fett wird während des Kochprozesses flüssig und drückt an die Oberfläche. Beim Abkühlen verfestigt sich das ausgetretene Fett wieder und bildet so die weißen Ablagerungen. Dein Hund kann das Fett einfach mitessen.

  Wir liefern deine Bestellungen nach Deutschland und Österreich. In Deutschland und Österreich ist der Versand ab einem Bestellwert von 25,- € kostenfrei. Eine Lieferung an Paketstationen ist nicht möglich!

• How can I track my delivery?

Feeding in case of diseases & intolerances

• How can I support my dog when he needs to lose weight?

  In the first few weeks, we recommend that you reduce your dog's food intake to 60% of the recommended amount. With this, your dog should quickly reach his target weight, with a weight loss of about 1-2% per week.

   

  You should do without snacks and treats for him. Give your dog a piece of apple or carrot instead - but not too much of that either. If you notice that your dog is very hungry, you can supplement the food portion with 10 g of cellulose per 100 g of food or 10 g of wheat bran per 100 g of food. These fibers will fill you up without making you fat. Just please accustom your dog to it slowly, otherwise diarrhea or constipation may occur.

   

  Last but not least, the appropriate - and adapted - sports program is of course important. Walk your dog for at least two hours a day so that the pounds can fall off.

• My dog has renal failure, what food can I give him?

  In case of renal insufficiency, it is important that you feed a diet that is individually adapted to your dog. Seek advice on this from a veterinarian who specializes in animal nutrition. Our Steakhouse food can be used for feeding, but the amount should be calculated by your veterinarian. Besides the right food, it is important for your pet to have enough water. Add some taste to the water by cooking vegetables or meat in it beforehand. Then it tastes twice as delicious to your pet.  

• What can I do for my dog in terms of feeding for chronic heart failure?

  In chronic heart failure, there are several ways to support the heart: A low-sodium diet can reduce unwanted fluid retention (edema). Because our complete foods (Classic range) are designed for healthy dogs, the sodium content is higher than recommended for dogs with heart disease. A good option is to feed our Steakhouse products as a supplementary feed in combination with carbohydrates (e.g. rice, pasta or potatoes), vegetables, fruit, minerals and oils. For the exact ration design we recommend you to consult a veterinarian specialized in animal nutrition. There is experience that fish oil can have positive effects on heart diseases. So you are welcome to add to your dog's food ration our salmon oil with a lot of unsaturated fatty acids. 

• How can I support my dog with hypothyroidism?

  In the case of hypothyroidism, special support via feeding is not possible. However, you should pay attention to an adapted calorie intake, since these patients usually need less energy than their healthy dog friends despite good medication settings. Ask your veterinarian for advice and support. 

• My dog has hyperthyroidism. What should I look for in the food?

  Hyperthyroidism, also called hyperthyroidism, does not normally occur in dogs. The only currently known cause is the ingestion of thyroid hormones through food. Therefore, especially after the diagnosis of "hyperthyroidism", pay special attention to avoid meat from the neck or throat area. This is where the thyroid gland is located and it is through the processing of this meat that the thyroid hormones enter the dog food. 
  By the way: We do not process any gullet meat in our products. Therefore, you can feed our varieties without hesitation. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee absolute freedom from thyroid tissue due to the manufacturing process. 

• My dog has leishmaniasis. Which food is the most suitable?

  Because of leishmaniasis, depending on the therapy, great importance should be attached to a low-purine diet. Therefore, offal should only be a limited component of the food suitable for your dog. You should also avoid fish or poultry skin and nuts. You can use our Steakhouse sausages as a supplementary food, but talk to your vet beforehand and let him advise you on how to feed your dog properly in this case. 

• My dog has epilepsy. How can I help him with food supplements?

  There are several theories on how to support your dog with epilepsy through feeding. Unfortunately, there is little or no scientific evidence on the effectiveness of most of the options and the use of these feeds is only anecdotal. 
  For example, a hypoallergenic diet (ONE previously unfed protein source along with ONE previously unfed carbohydrate source) can help with epilepsy. Likewise, in some cases BARFing can help by influencing the bacteria in the gut. Such a ration must be balanced in any case and professionally calculated by a veterinarian specialized in nutrition. 
  In some cases, the administration of hemp oil is said to have had a positive effect on the severity of epilepsy. 
  However, medium-chain fatty acids have been shown to help. These are available either as oils produced for this benefit. However, they also occur in certain quantities in coconut oil, for example. 

• What should be considered in case of pancreatitis?

  In the case of pancreatitis, especially if it has already existed for a long time, a low-fat feeding is recommended. Especially here it is important that the proteins have a high quality. Therefore, our wet food menu "Lean Turkey" from the Sensitive product line is exactly the right choice! Lots of high-quality meat and offal with a reduced fat content. 
  Also, the dog should be fed the daily ration in small portions. Feeding three times a day will help your dog here. In acute cases, feeding up to every 4 hours is necessary. The important thing here is that this does not increase the total amount fed throughout the day! There are simply several small portions. Talk best with your veterinarian or a veterinarian about this and let him advise you what is best for your dog.

• Do I save with a subscription compared to a regular purchase?

  If you choose our food subscription, we reward your loyalty with a 10% discount on every order. By the way: If you sign up for our newsletter, you will get a one-time discount of 15% - also on the food subscription. 

• Can I adjust my feed subscription?

  The management of your subscription is in your own hands. You decide which products you want to receive, so you can add, replace or delete products at any time. You can also change the cycle as needed, pause or cancel the subscription. 

• Can I pause my feed subscription?

  Yes, you can pause your subscription at any time if you want to. To do so, go to your subscription management. 

• I would like to cancel my feed subscription. What do I have to do?

  You can always cancel your feed subscription at the end of the month in the subscription management.
